  • The COVID test must not be older than 48 hours prior to the arrival in Goa.
  • If the passenger opts for a  swab test on landing that would cost  INR 2000 and after that goes into paid institutional/home quarantine until the results are out.

Protocols for tourists deciding for home quarantine

  • It is compulsory to book the accommodation ( only registered hotels), that will also be verified at the entry points in Goa.
  • If a tourist shows COVID-19 related symptoms upon arrival during the screening at entry points, he/she will have to undergo a COVID-19 test at the authorized centers at his/her own expense.
  • The authorities will verify-

(i) If the traveler has confirmed booking with any registered hotel affiliated to the Department of Tourism and has the license to operate, and
(ii) The validity of hotel booking for the duration of the visit.

The Tourist will have to pursue the following safety guidelines

  • Once the test results are declared and if the tourist is found to be COVID-19 negative, he/she can be permitted to travel out of the isolation facility. However, if the tourist tests positive, the accommodation group will act as per the rules issued by the state health department. All bills related to the quarantine, tests, etc. shall be paid by the tourists.
  • If the tourist desires to change the original booking for their stay in Goa, it will be approved with the permission of the accommodation groups by the tourism department. The tourist must present the proof of re-booking, if any, to the Rapid Response Leader of the hotel/accommodation group before they can be moved from the original accommodation to the new one.
  • In such cases, tourists will have to fill a self-declaration form at the new accommodation they book for contact tracing.
